Blue Opalized Wood Moon Studs (Copy)
Petrified Wood with Blue Opal was first discovered as pebbles and larger stones in streams near three volcanoes in West Java, Indonesia. Miners found the source on Mt. Tjikolak: an ancient petrified forest buried by volcanic debris. Over time, the wood fossilized with opaline silica.
Once the wood decomposed, it was replaced by silica rich in copper, iron, and manganese. Now, the darker layer is the brownish petrified wood, while the vibrant blue inside features the blue opal.
These moon studs are made with stainless steel posts and backs.
You will receive the earrings pictured. I create one of a kind pieces of wearable art. Each one of my jewelry pieces is handmade with love by me. Due to the natural materials used and handmade nature of the pieces there may be some minor differences in similar items. This should not be considered a flaw but an indication of natural materials and handmade craftsmanship.
The pieces are photographed in natural light to capture their colour as accurately as possible, however, monitors may be set to different settings and may alter the colour.
