Blue opalized petrified wood was discovered in West Java, Indonesia, near three volcanoes, with the source later found on Mt. Tjikolak. This area was once an ancient forest, eventually buried by volcanic debris. Over time, the wood fossilized and was replaced by mineral-rich silica, creating the vivid blue opal seen within the stone.
